Rounddances of the Goddesses
Workshop with Friedel Kloke-Eibl and Saskia Kloke
Goddesses of different cultures are prototypes. For the indigenous population of America, e.g. the figure of the Pachamama mixed with the figure of Mary. Thus "pagan" and Christian ideas are united. The goddess Oxum in Brazil is considered the goddess of beauty, love and wealth, in Africa she symbolizes fertility, and in the Afro-Cuban Santería Oshun corresponds to the Virgin Mary. In Egypt it is, for example, the figure of Isis, which at the time of primitive Christianity was also highly popular in pagan Rome. In this workshop Saskia Kloke and Friedel Kloke-Eibl will lead us through their dances and choreographies into the mythologies of different countries and cultures.
